A Personal Letter From Jessica Conway, RN, MSN

High levels of stress, for long durations, without enough resourcing causes burnout and nervous system dysregulation. This is where the resiliency and flexibility of the nervous system is interrupted, often causing intense nervous system responses. This can manifest as severe burnout, anxiety, and overwhelming emotions. Or, feeling flat and disconnected from self, others, and the world around you. Chronic stress and burnout also wreaks havoc on many body systems including the immune, endocrine, cardiovascular, reproductive and digestive systems. 

Under this kind of distress, we often say, “This is too much…I don’t feel like myself anymore…I feel stuck…I’m afraid this is never going to end.”

The difference between succumbing to the stresses of our environment and achieving optimal resiliency isn't simply mental strength, or emotional stability. Rather, it is grounded in our nervous system and physiology. That is what Rising in Resilience will teach you…to intervene at the nervous system and physiological level for optimal health and resiliency.

Rising in Resilience is designed for Nurses and other Healthcare Professionals experiencing nervous system dysregulation and burnout. We all strive to be liberated from the stress and pressures of life and to have practical tools to feel like our optimal selves. Yet, more often than not, when thrown into a stressful environment, for an extended period of time, we feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and often out of control.

There is an actual science, a neurophysiological framework, behind what is going on. Rising in Resilience is a 6-module, science-backed course, to help you overcome burnout and optimize resilience based on Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Psychology, and Neurophysiology.

This course gets to the root causes of stress and burnout, rather than just treating symptoms. You will learn how to befriend and operate your nervous system, grow bigger than your stress, prevent burnout, and liberate your mind and body from undo constriction.
